PRODUCT DATA FOR THE TRADE

FLECK IS DIGITALLY NETWORKED

As a renowned roof accessories manufacturer, FLECK is also faced with the global trend of digitalisation in its cooperation with its customers. Acting wholly in the interests of partnership, we accept this challenge by supplying the building materials, roofing and PHVAC trade the (product) data it needs in the three-step sales & distribution channel.

FLECK has therefore always provided the trade with the article master data in digital format for all products with GTIN/EAN codes and gross prices on request. Invoices are also sent digitally, as PDF files, on request.

And we have naturally achieved the EDIFACT standard for the electronic data in business transactions format. We therefore work with several building materials trade supplier cooperations, not only with EDI-INVOIC (invoices), but also within the scope of EDI orders.

Comprehensive digital information and communication channels are valuable for the building materials and roofing industry, in order to be able to network the different market partners and their processes with each other. Databases are one of these channels. This creates useful optimisation of communication between manufacturers, traders, architects and installers.

WE ARE A MEMBER OF THE FOLLOWING DATABASES:

BauDatenbank

BauDatenbank GmbH is a joint undertaking of Heinze GmbH and the Building Materials Industry Circle/BDB e.V. It sees itself as a service provider for the building materials industry and the building materials trade, in order to support them in their digital communication. Through the “BauDatenbank” (construction database), building material traders can obtain valid article and price data from their suppliers and input them in their own ERP system, partially automated via suitable import interfaces.

ETIM e. V.

The objective of ETIM e. V. is to establish the Electro-Technical Information Model (ETIM) as the standard for data exchange in the industry and to close the knowledge gap concerning the data confusion and the associated expenditures of manufacturers and the trade in the electrical industry. ETIM e. V. thus ensures error-free and efficient interaction between B2B partners worldwide and stands for innovation, adherence to principles and data transport. The basic principle of ETIM is easy: the traded product is assigned a specific product class. Within this product class, the product is in turn assigned different more objectifiable properties. To simplify the search, the product classes are additionally described by synonyms. On request, in addition to the article data necessary for the classification, other product information can also be transferred. The transfer of the data (ETIM classification data, business management master data, marketing data) is specified by the “BMEcat”, an XML-based data format developed for the exchange of electronic catalogue data.
