The International Association for Metal Building Envelopes, based in Krefeld, is a renowned contact when it comes to issues concerning building with sheet metal. For over 50 years, the association has been taken care of important topics in the industry such as lobbying, support, cooperations and certifications, all in the interests of its members. The definition of technical standards, holding seminars, drawing up technical rules and guidelines and organising expert assessors also belong to the IFBS’ fields of activity. Apart from supporting members, the association also has full members. They are in the building element planning and design and the building element manufacture and sales sectors.

The association, that is independent of any professional chambers, represents the interests of all 75 voluntary members and promotes the building material trade in general. As a platform, the VBÖ forms the basis for constructive cooperation between trade, industry, representatives of statutory/political interests and other building sector associations. Thus, among other things, it secures the foundation of the business of its members, participates in political decision-making processes and promotes training and continued vocational and professional development in specialised building material trade.

The constant and most important goal of the CSS is to offer the lay public and professional public the services of the best installer firms as well as the manufacturers and sellers included in the CSS professional association. The guild actively takes care of the development of the roofer trade in Slovakia, supports the roofer trade on a fitting level, promotes the professional development of guild members and represents their interests.

the Institute of Flat Roof Construction and Building Structure Waterproofing (“Institut für Flachdachbau und Bauwerksabdichtung”, IFB) was founding in 2005 in Austria with the goal of generating and distributing information about the erection and maintenance of building envelopes, in particular, the proper execution of flat roofs and waterproofing. Today, a large number of Austrian and international companies are members of the IFB, their joint intention being to optimise the quality of design and use processes for flat roofs, terraces and balconies as well as parts of building and structures in contact with soil. For FLECK, in particular, the membership provides it with the opportunity to make further valuable contacts in Austria and to share technical knowledge.

The International Federation of the Roofing Trade (IFD), based in Constance, has linked roofer companies worldwide for many years. It functions as a central contact point for the professional and technical development of the roofing trade. The IFD organises international workshops, publishes professional documentation and promotes exchange between its members. One of the most important activities of the IFD is the organisation of the “world championship” of young roofers, which is held every two years. The IFD also works on drawing up technical standards and approvals and promotes studies to improve the industry.

The Association of Plumbers, Roofers and Carpenters of the Czech Republic was founded in 1995, to raise the plumbing, roofing, carpentry and flat roofing trades to a high level and to promote professional expertise and ethical principles. The members of the guild commit to fair and honest business practices, which are firmly anchored in the guild’s bylaws.
