If leaves and dirt clog the gravel or leaf trap of a flat roof drain or gully and cause the rainwater to back-up, considerable damage can occur. Roofs, which are particularly susceptible to leaf and dirt accumulations, should therefore be maintained regularly, since no drain or gulley reports dangerous backwater in the event of heavy rainfall events.
The innovative solution: the ROOFGUARD with FLECK connect. The ROOFGUARD- leaf screen lifts itself automatically, as soon as the flat roof drain or gully is blocked and the water reaches a backed-up level of 60 mm. The backed-up water shoots beneath it and into the drain. The resulting undertow drags leaves, hail, etc. along with it. The leaf screen then lowers itself and FLECK connect* sends an email. The owner, roofer or facility manager can then arrange an inspection or maintenance.
*FLECK connect is only available in Germany at the moment.
Flat roofs must be maintained regularly, among other things to maintain insurance protection. Owners who spare the expense accept the risks.
The increasingly frequent heavy rainfall events increase the risk of backwater on the flat roof penetrating the building where it can cause substantial damage, especially where older roofs without an emergency overflow are involved. The idea of the ROOFGUARD was born in practice and was thought up by a master roofer, in order to offer owners a permanently active protection system for the flat roof drain and thus increase safety on flat roofs.
With the ROOFGUARD with FLECK connect ,roofers can:
To protect parapet drains or spouts from dangerous leaf accumulations and backed-up water, the ROOFGUARD can be fitted with an optional parapet extension.
